Eduardo Barroca vive um dilema no Botafogo. Sem poder contar com Diego Souza, por questão contratual, e Alex Santana, por lesão, o treinador tem problemas para definir a equipe que enfrenta o São Paulo, no próximo sábado, no Estádio Nilton Santos, às 11h, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro. Em entrevista coletiva realizada nesta sexta-feira, no campo anexo da arena, o treinador detalhou as dúvidas e possibilidades para o duelo contra o Tricolor.

– Ainda vou estender essa decisão para o treino. Existem três possibilidades que trabalhei durante a semana que darei uma olhada. Uma possibilidade é a substituição normal, um centroavante por outro. Uma segunda opção é entrar com mais um jogador de velocidade na frente. A terceira opção, que me agradou muito durante a semana, que seria entrar com um meia de origem, mudar um pouco a nossa estrutura. Como eu uso o Diego (Souza) bem recuado, seria entrar com esta opção para ter dois jogadores mais soltos na frente e com dois volantes e dois meias – analisou.

Eduardo Barroca afirmou que a possibilidade de entrar com um jogador a mais no meio-campo pode ser uma oportunidade de simular uma movimentação comum a Diego Souza, que, apesar de jogar como centroavante, eventualmente aparece em uma posição mais recuada do gramado, ajudando na organização de jogadas.

– Tenho por hábito nos treinamentos não definir uma equipe. Misturo todo mundo, dou condições iguais a todos. É muito mais por característica, se optar por um meia em vez de um centroavante, como eu utilizo muito o Diego Souza flutuando no meio, é muito mais a possibilidade de utilizar quatro homens no meio-campo, ao invés de três, e dar mais liberdade aos dois homens de frente, com menos responsabilidade defensiva para eles – completou.

Opção 1: um atacante no lugar de Diego Souza. Não mexeria na estrutura da equipe. Vinícius Tanque, Victor Rangel e Pachu brigam pela vaga.

Opção 3: um jogador de velocidade no lugar de Diego Souza. Equipe manteria a formação tática, mas teria um setor ofensivo mais móvel, com um falso nove. Rodrigo Pimpão e Lucas Campos brigam pela vaga.

Além disto, Eduardo Barroca fez uma prévia da partida contra o São Paulo. O Tricolor é o sexto colocado, com 32 pontos, e uma vitória pode aproximar o Botafogo, com 27, em décimo, do G6. O treinador fez questão de afirmar que a equipe comandada por Cuca se destaca tecnicamente.

– O time é muito forte. É uma equipe que briga o tempo todo lá em cima, é treinado por um cara bastante experiente e vitorioso. Esperamos um jogo muito difícil, sabemos que temos que jogar no limite para conseguir ser competitivo. Temos toda a confiança no nosso grupo e nas possibilidades de fazer um bom jogo e atingir o nosso objetivo nesse início de returno – afirmou.

Vantagem e desvantagem de utilizar jogadores da base
– A desvantagem é ter pouca referência de alguns deles nesse tipo de competição. A gente tem jogadores jovens, formados aqui, que tem boa experiência e que temos referências como eles se comportam ganhando ou perdendo. Isso é importante. De alguns ainda não temos. O lado positivo é o hábito coletivo por terem trabalhado comigo por muito tempo. Eles sabem aquilo que eu gosto, não gosto e até ajudam os mais velhos no sentido da coletividade. Tenho confiança nos jovens, todas as vezes que foram experimentados em nível nacional eles deram respostas, fomos campeões brasileiros, da Taça Rio, Guanabara, OPG. Eles sabem que o treinador confia e na hora que eu tiver que colocar qualquer um eu vou ter confiança.

Como marcar Daniel Alves?
– Não é só o Daniel. O São Paulo tem muita qualidade e reposição. Os jovens são todos de nível de seleção, Toró, Liziero, Antony, Igor Gomes, Walce… Todos passaram em seleções de base comigo e são de nível alto. A gente precisa estar organizado e fazer um jogo de imposição da nossa coletividade para que, na maior parte do tempo, os jogadores do São Paulo se preocupem com os do Botafogo e não o contrário. Para isso, a gente precisa fazer um jogo equilibrado e de intensidade alta.

Alan Santos
– Já tive a oportunidade de dizer que o Alan é um jogador extremamente profissional, talvez um dos mais profissionais que a gente tem aqui. É um cara exemplar e treina muito sério. A gente tem um setor que tem o Cícero, com a experiência e dá pouca brecha. Não é suspenso, não faz tanta falta e joga sempre, aguenta fisicamente o nível do Campeonato Brasileiro. É muito mais uma competição interna. Gosto muito da postura e futebol do Alan, é um cara que ajuda dentro e fora de campo. Daqui a pouco vamos usá-lo e ele vai nos ajudar.

Motivação de Rodrigo Pimpão
– O Pimpão não é o tipo de jogador que a gente precisa puxar isso dele. Ele já tem isso, é uma das principais características. Tem a capacidade de dar a volta por cima, é trabalhador para caramba. Ele está voltando de uma lesão, já usei no segundo tempo contra o Ceará e vai ser importante até o final do campeonato pela experiência e pela história que tem aqui.

– Ajuda, porque diminui uma situação difícil, de muitas pessoas que dependem do salário para honrar seus compromissos. Ainda não estamos na condição ideal, mas, mais uma vez, a gente precisa focar no que interessa, na nossa responsabilidade. É o Botafogo no Campeonato Brasileiro e temos que trabalhar o mais correto possível e é dessa forma que vamos continuar fazendo.

Cuca, no entanto, preferiu não criar polêmica em relação ao assunto e disse que isso já faz parte da cultura do país.

– Normal. É a nossa cultura. Tem de entender que é assim. Por isso privilegia elenco, tenta treinar o elenco de forma homogênea. No mês que vem temos sete jogos. Natural ter desfalques, vai ter jogador suspenso, com lesão. Por isso a força de elenco – disse o treinador, que opinou sobre a importância de uma possível mudança de calendário.

– A data Fifa só vai ficar correta quando tiver calendário de acordo com futebol europeu. Sempre falei isso. Poderia fazer calendário de acordo com o futebol europeu. A Argentina faz isso. Em junho e julho teria férias, e mais dez dias em dezembro, natal e ano novo. Seria mais férias ao jogador e estaria no processo natural da Europa. Podiam dar uma pensada nisso. Sei que envolve estadual, mas podia pensar nisso também – completou.

Bangladesh’s pace bowlers have had their moments even in the recent past, but very few times in this team’s history have they been as effective as a collective as they were against England in Adelaide. They took all the wickets that went to the bowlers, and it was evident that captain Mashrafe Mortaza placed a lot of faith in them.Two examples from Monday evening demonstrate what Mashrafe saw in Rubel Hossain and Taskin Ahmed that the rest of the world missed. First was when he finished Shakib Al Hasan’s quota in the 47th over. Though he ended wicketless, Shakib had conceded just one boundary. Not many Bangladesh captains would take such a risk, but Mashrafe simply asked his two pace bowlers to defend 31 runs in the last three overs or take the remaining two wickets.When Rubel did take the first of those wickets, in the 49th over, he put a slip in as James Anderson took guard. Again, past Bangladesh captains have focused more on protecting boundaries in these situations but Mashrafe believed that Rubel would keep angling towards the left-handed Anderson’s off-stump, either hit the stumps or take the edge. Or he may have thought that a thin edge would slip past the wicketkeeper so a slip could even act as a stopper.Mashrafe has shown a lot of confidence in this particular bowling attack, even on bad days against Sri Lanka and Scotland. Bangladesh conceded 300-plus totals in both games, with the three-man pace attack taking only five wickets between them and giving away runs at 6.79 and 7.13 per over respectively. If Rubel had been dropped after giving away 60 runs from his eight overs against Scotland, it wouldn’t have been much of a surprise.But that is not how Mashrafe thinks of the pace bowlers. He saw great body language from Rubel during the course of the England innings, and kept asking him to bring his side breakthroughs.Mashrafe passionately defended them, saying that it was time pace bowling is taken seriously across all circles in Bangladesh cricket. They need more respect and care and better pitches back home, he said.”I’m sorry to say but people have been talking rubbish about our pace bowling,” Mashrafe said. “We know what we are. We know how capable we are. I hope people will surely start giving some respect. I’m really happy with our quicks, that they have shown the world how good they are. Hopefully this will bring their confidence up, and they will show again and again in this sort of tournament.”Everyone expects us to be a team dependent on spin bowling. I think it is high time we get out of that mentality. If we want to take our cricket forward, we need to focus on pace bowling. Spin obviously works in certain countries, so it will be hard to shift to pace completely. But I think the pace bowlers need better care, and provide wickets where they feel some comfort. I would hope these bowlers continue to bowl in the same way back home – Rubel Hossain did so against New Zealand and Taskin Ahmed against India.”Mashrafe himself bowled superbly in this game, as he did against Afghanistan with the early breakthroughs. He would have given Bangladesh an early strike against Sri Lanka had it not been for Anamul Haque dropping Lahiru Thirimanne in the first over. Against England, Mashrafe bounced back after conceding three fours in his fourth over. He returned in the 20th over to get Alex Hales caught behind.At the start of his three-over spell in the batting Powerplay, he removed the dangerous Joe Root and with him went England’s chances. Two for 48 from ten overs was as good a spell he has ever bowled for Bangladesh.He also praised Rubel, who took four England wickets, for bouncing back from a personal problem that landed him in jail less than two weeks before the team departed for the World Cup.Rubel has been woeful in Tests and T20s for a number of years but has often used his skills better in ODIs. Less than two years ago, he took a hat-trick in a six-wicket haul against New Zealand. He has been expensive at this tournament but against England he generated enough seam movement and late swing to take the four wickets.”He has been fantastic the last one-and-a-half years,” Mashrafe said. “It’s nice to see his bowling from mid-on or mid-off. He’s swinging the ball, he’s bowling fast, and I’m really happy that he takes all the pressure on his shoulders and delivered from the start.”I should mention that he was been under tremendous pressure before coming to this World Cup. He put the pressure outside and showed his performance, and the whole world has seen how good he is. Hopefully he will continue.”Rubel and Taskin can be considered lucky to be playing under Mashrafe. He has often taken up the cause of the pace bowlers with authority, asked for better treatment and care. It is about time that Mashrafe is reaping the rewards of his conviction.

-O fato do Rafinha, do Gerson e do Filipe não jogarem, vocês estão habituados aos times da Libertadores colocarem todos reservas. Por que não posso colocar três? Não entendo essa admiração. Não foi por isso que não vencemos. Jogamos para ganhar, fomos o único time a tentar ganhar. O São Paulo fez 25 faltas, a maca entrou muitas vezes – disse Jorge Jesus em entrevista coletiva, após a partida.

O técnico ironizou o fato de alguns jogadores do São Paulo terem caído em campo pedindo atendimento médico alegando sentir câimbras.

-O São Paulo tem grandes jogadores e não precisa fazer tanto antijogo, e o árbitro foi conivente. Parar o jogo porque estão com câimbras musculares? Me senti na Arábia Saudita. Lá que os jogadores se atiravam no chão. Parecia que estava na Arábia Saudita. Se for uma lesão, tudo bem. Mas câimbras não é para paralisar o jogo. O São Paulo foi uma vez até nossa baliza e até criou chance. Atuou uma partida para não perder – comentou.

Perguntado sobre algum possível efeito deste empate e do fim da sequência de vitórias na partida contra o Grêmio, no meio de semana, pela Libertadores, Jesus foi taxativo.

-O jogo de quarta-feira não tem nada a ver com o jogo de hoje. Se ganhássemos, seria difícil como vai ser. Empatamos e vai ser a mesma coisa. Enfrentamos uma equipe experiente, com ritmo de jogo, que executou o que veio fazer e acho que poderia disputar mais o jogo. Não tem nada a ver uma coisa com outra. Sabíamos que não ganharíamos todos os jogos. O importante foi também não ter perdido. Nem sempre quem tem mais oportunidades ganha. Futebol é o único esporte coletivo onde nem sempre o melhor ganha. Não foi o caso de hoje. O Flamengo jogou contra uma outra grande equipe – analisou.

وأكمل: “علينا أن نرفع رؤوسنا، أعرف أنني منذ أن جئت إلى هنا أن الجمهور لديه الكثير من الآمال في هذه البطولة لأنها مناسبة خاصة”.

واختتم: “للأسف نحن استعددنا ولكن لم نكن في أفضل مستوانا، هذه خيبة أمل كبيرة لنا وللجماهير، لكن علينا أن نرفع رؤوسنا لأن الموسم لا يزال طويلًا”.

After two days of impressive cricket from the yo-yo side of the County Championship, it is Somerset who face the prospect of a third consecutive defeat.Following Charlie Morris’s emphatic performance with the ball on Sunday, Worcestershire’s young batsmen flexed their muscles on the second day. Ben Cox, the 23-year-old wicketkeeper, completed his second first-class hundred, and Joe Leach, the 24-year-old allrounder, narrowly failed to match him. Worcestershire missed a fifth batting bonus point, agonisingly by just two runs, but that was a minor disappointment next to a handsome first-innings lead.Somerset may be performing below their true level. Their seam attack, now that Alfonso Thomas is back to add his wiles to the potential of Lewis Gregory and the Overton twins, is decent enough, yet the batting is a worry. Nick Compton and Alviro Petersen have gone since the end of last season and Craig Kieswetter looks no nearer coming back from his horrific eye injury.Yet in this match their bowling has been found wanting. The pitch has become easier to bat on but Somerset’s attack looked ragged at times, leaking runs far too readily, notably with the second new ball.Lewis Gregory, called up for Friday’s one-day international against Ireland, went at more than four runs per over, as did Craig Overton, the allrounder of the twins, who had to be withdrawn after conceding 31 in two overs as Leach caught the easy-going mood of the holiday crowd. Worcestershire, all out just before the close, will hope that rain forecast overnight does not work against them.
