ويتواجد بايرن ميونخ في المجموعة الثالثة ضمن منافسات كأس العالم للأندية، رفقة أندية بنفيكا البرتغالي وبوكا جونيور الأرجنتيني، بالإضافة إلى أوكلاند سيتي النيوزيلندي.

ويدير مباراة بايرن ميونخ وأوكلاند سيتي، الحكم السنغالي عيسى سي، ويعاونه كل من جبريل كامارا ونوها بانجورا.

وسبق للنادي البافاري أن توج بلقب كأس العالم للأندية في مناسبتين سابقتين، ضد الرجاء المغربي وتيريس أونال المكسيكي.

Enzo Maresca has quickly implemented his system at Chelsea, already showing clear patterns of how the Italian wants his side to play, building through the thirds at a slower pace, keeping players in closer proximity by doing so and looking to suffocate teams in their own half.

The importance of wingers in this system is huge. They are often given the most freedom to be direct with their actions, looking to make something happen.

In an ideal world, these wide players are able to go both ways (inside and outside) in order to cause the opposition fullbacks a variety of different problems throughout a game.

Maresca’s ideal winger is one who can beat his man consistently in 1v1 isolations, deliver balls into the box with a variety of techniques such as cutbacks and clipped crosses to the back post, but also has the ability to be a goal threat, cutting inside and getting shots off.

The Blues perhaps had the perfect player for this system all the way back in 2004. A certain Arjen Robben was a winger who could beat his man to go towards the byline, but more importantly, possessed one of the most deadly weapons when cutting inside and shooting on his left foot.

Chelsea made the signing of Robben back in 2004, with the Dutch winger joining the Blues from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of around £12m.

The Dutchman made 106 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 19 goals, providing 21 assists and totalling 6,632 minutes played.

He developed something of a signature move, cutting inside from the right-wing, having the ability to bend the ball into the far left corner, cutting in on his stronger left foot.

This was seen in his early days at Chelsea, but even further developed in his years at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich after leaving London, going on to become one of the very best in the world.

Robben would have thrived in Maresca’s system, constantly being put in 1v1 isolations to attack the full-back with the license to be creative and vary his actions between attacking the byline and moving inside.

As it happens, it looks like Chelsea may have already sold someone who could have provided that same two-way threat from the wing back in 2023.

Chelsea may have already sold the new Robben

Chelsea sold a certain Callum Hudson-Odoi to Nottingham Forest in the 2023/24 summer transfer window.

The Tricky Trees only paid a measly £3m to secure the services of the young winger, with a potential £2m of add-ons to bring the total to £5m. It’s safe to say that deal has bitten Chelsea in the backside with his form after leaving soaring to new heights. Now, in 2025, the Cobham graduate is in the form of his career.

Indeed, since moving to the City Ground, Hudson-Odoi has made 61 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals, and providing four assists, seven of which have come in 2024/25.

Whilst his per 90 metrics are mostly down, playing in a lower possession side, his effectiveness has clearly risen, with the 24-year-old now having a 0.14 goals/shot ratio, showcasing his increase in efficiency.

So, where does the comparison to Robben stem from?

Well, much like the great Dutchman, Hudson-Odoi is now making it something of a trademark of cutting inside. Right-footed – as opposed to Robben’s left – he’s had great joy by chopping inside from the left and curling the ball into the far right corner.

As a result, it’s likely that, considering his form and the small £3m fee, Chelsea will regret the sale of their academy “star boy” as he was described by Forest teammate and ex-Chelsea defender, Ola Aina.

Everton manager David Moyes is believed to be a “driving force” behind a potential move for an “unbelievable” player in the summer transfer window, according to a new update.

Moyes eyeing new signings for Everton

Once this season reaches its conclusion at Goodison Park, it will be the end of an era, as the Toffees move to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. Not only that, but there will be optimism about new signings coming in and taking Moyes’ side up a gear.

One player who has been linked with a summer move to Everton is Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti, who could be an impressive addition. He has started 25 games in Serie A this season, proving that he has been a key man for one of the biggest sides in Europe.

Meanwhile, Emanuel Emegha has emerged as a potential replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer window, having netted 11 times in 21 league appearances for Strasbourg in 2024/25 to date. It remains to be seen if the latter will stay put or not, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he departed.

Another attacker, Besiktas ace Semih Kilicsoy, has also been backed to seal a move to Everton before the beginning of next season, with the four-cap Turkey international a 19-year-old with a potentially big future in the game.

Everton pushing to sign "unbelievable" player

According to Football Insider, Everton are continuing to push to sign West Brom winger Tom Fellows, with Moyes said to be a “driving force” behind it.

The Toffees boss wants to strengthen his squad in wide attacking areas ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and he sees the Englishman as a strong choice to bring in.

At this point, Fellows feels like a big target for Everton, having been tracked during the January transfer window, only for the Baggies to hold firm. But with Everton all but securing a fee, they appear to be in a position to succeed at the second time of asking in the summer under Moyes.

The 21-year-old is enjoying an excellent season for West Brom, with no player registering more than his tally of 11 assists in the Championship. Meanwhile, Karlan Grant has heaped praise on him, saying:

“He’s an unbelievable young player. As soon as he does that step-over, I know the ball’s going to be arriving at the back stick and there’s going to be chances.”

There may be some who are apprehensive about Everton spending a lot of money on a Championship player – a £10m price tag has reportedly been slapped on him in the recent past – but Fellows is such an exciting player who could have a big future in the game.

Josh Little is yet to make his Test debut but has thrived in one-day and T20 cricket, and would have been among the first names on Ireland’s teamsheet. But, to the frustration of many Ireland supporters, he is not available for selection.Little has spent most of the last two months in India, becoming the first active Ireland player to feature in the IPL. “Josh asked us initially if he could have a period of rest ahead of the World Cup Qualifier,” explained Richard Holdsworth, Cricket Ireland’s performance director. “Our management team and the selectors discussed that issue in detail and were amicably in agreement that actually, that was in the best interests of Josh and the team.”We are incredibly proud to go and play against England and at Lord’s. It’s a special occasion,” Holdsworth said. “However, it’s not a pinnacle event. And where we have to put our energies and ensure we have the best team on the park is in our pinnacle events.”Going to a World Cup Qualifier where only 10 teams [two from the Qualifier] can qualify for that World Cup, that is still the biggest prize in the game as far as we’re concerned, and certainly as far as the world game is concerned.”Cricket Ireland’s decision has caused some disquiet. “I’d say there are people who are not happy with that,” Andy Balbirnie, Ireland’s captain, told ESPNcricinfo. “There’ll be a lot of people at Lord’s, and there won’t be a lot of people in Zimbabwe or Scotland [for the Qualifiers].”And Lord’s, for an Irish supporter, is fairytale stuff. It’s good for the people below him – the young players – because they can strive to be the next Josh Little. The knock-down effect it has is far more important than whether he plays the Test match at Lord’s.”Holdsworth added that, without any red-ball preparation behind him, Little might struggle to manage the physical demands of Test cricket: “The majority of the cricket he has been playing is T20 and bowling four overs is not good enough to prepare any cricketer to play Test cricket, where they could be bowling 20-plus overs a day and maybe for two innings.”We didn’t feel physically he was actually going to be ready for that having had no preparation for that Test match. His preparation was literally going to be coming out of the IPL and arriving a couple of days before the Test match.”Instead, Ireland will go into the Test with a depleted seam attack – with Barry McCarthy and Conor Olphert both unavailable through injury. They are preparing with a three-day, first-class warm-up match at Chelmsford, against an Essex side which features four of their own squad members.

Se o Brasileirão estava causando uma certa preocupação para a equipe de Rogério Ceni, neste domingo (14), a situação aliviou um pouco. Com o resultado positivo, o São Paulo encerrou o jejum de seis jogos sem vitórias na competição. Além disso, o resultado melhorou a situação na classificação, com Rogério Ceni e seus comandado chegando aos 29 pontos, ocupando a 11ª posição.

INÍCIO COM POUCAS EMOÇÕES E ‘JOGO BAGUNÇADO’

Os primeiros minutos no estádio do Morumbi não renderam muito, Com vários erros de passes e cruzamentos para ambos os lados até os 20 minutos de jogo. Foram poucas tentativas de finalização das equipes, mas nenhuma com perigo.

A primeira aconteceu aos oito minutos do duelo, quando Igor Vinícius recebeu uma inversão de Reinaldo, invadiu a área e arriscou. Porém, a bola foi desviada.

A partida seguiu truncada. Nem o São Paulo e nem o Red Bull Bragantino ofereciam perigo. O Tricolor não sofria com o ataque adversário, mas também não conseguia avançar.

NESTOR APARECE E AGITA O DUELO

​Até a metade da primeira etapa, o confronto seguia em um mesmo ritmo. Porém, Rodrigo Nestor mudou tudo. Aos 24 minutos, Reinaldo deu um excelente passe para a cria de Cotia após uma roubada de bola de Luciano.

A sua movimentação foi essencial, uma vez que viu que tinha espaço para adentrar a área. Aproveitando um erro de Luan Cândido na marcação – que deu condição para o meia marcar -, ele tocou direto para o gol e abriu o placar.

O placar aberto pelo São Paulo desestabilizou o Massa Bruta. A equipe de Bragança não reagiu bem, sem conseguir puxar contra-ataques e pressionar.

O Tricolor seguiu controlando a partida até os minutos finais da primeira etapa, sem dar chance alguma de reação para o Bragantino. Aos 42 minutos, Patrick quase marcou o segundo.

O camisa 88 havia recebido um rápido atendimento médico minutos antes, após uma dividida de Aderlan. Porém, não foi nada grave. Dois minutos depois, Reinaldo novamente apareceu. O lateral-esquerdo deu um ótimo passe, que parou nos pés do Pantera Negra.

Patrick arriscou a finalização, mas foi defendida pelo goleiro Cleiton. O primeiro tempo terminou em vantagem de 1 a 0 para o São Paulo.

TOCA NO CALLERI QUE É GOL

​O segundo tempo seguiu com o domínio do São Paulo na partida. Mesmo com o susto de Felipe Alves, que saiu com os pés e se atrapalhou – assustando a torcida -, não demorou muito para a equipe mandante ampliar sua vantagem no placar.

Mais uma vez com uma ótima jogada de Reinaldo – que recebeu a bola de Luciano -, Calleri recebeu a bola e tocou de cabeça direto para o gol, sendo o responsável pelo segundo tento da partida.

Ainda sem ceder espaço para o Red Bull Bragantino, que sofria com a marcação do Tricolor e com a eficácia do setor defensivo do elenco de Rogério Ceni, o São Paulo não demorou para aumentar o placar.

​A defesa do Bragantino seguiu extremamente bagunçada. Em uma das piores partidas da equipe de Barbieri no Campeonato Brasileiro, o Braga deu chance para o São Paulo marcar o terceiro. E ele veio pelos pés de Igor Vinícius.

Apenas dois minutos depois do gol de Calleri, Reinaldo cobrou um lateral para Rodrigo Nestor. Após uma disputa com os zagueiros do Red Bull Bragantino, o lateral-direito recebeu a bola e tocou direto para o gol.

Os minutos finais da segunda etapa se concentraram quase todo na área do Red Bull Bragantino.

O Tricolor pressionou o Massa Bruta em busca de uma goleada. Nikão entrou no lugar de Luciano e, aos 27 minutos do segundo tempo, arriscou. Porém, a bola passou do lado do gol.

Aos 44 minutos, Eder marcou, porém o gol foi anulado após ser alegado impedimento.

A partida terminou em 3 a 0 para o Tricolor – que rompeu uma série de jejuns neste domingo (14).

​Com o resultado positivo, o São Paulo melhorou sua situação no Campeonato Brasileiro. Agora na 11ª colocação e com 29 pontos, retorna seu foco para a Copa do Brasil. Leeds United come back from the international break to return to action in the Championship this afternoon as they prepare to welcome Swansea City to Elland Road.

The Whites have had a two-week break from their attempts to secure an automatic return to the Premier League at the second time of asking, giving Daniel Farke and his staff a chance to reflect on the run-in and how they want to approach the final games.

They have only won one of their last four league matches, drawing two and losing one, and were held to a 2-2 draw by Queens Park Rangers in their last game.

The West Yorkshire outfit are three points behind Sheffield United, who beat Coventry City last night, and are only two points ahead of Burnley in third, which means that it is all still to play for in the race for promotion.

Farke may have to go into this clash with Swansea at Elland Road without the player who sealed all three points in the dramatic clash between the two teams when they met in Wales earlier this season.

The latest Leeds United injury news

Firstly, there was some positive news to come from the pre-match press conference as it was revealed that captain Ethan Ampadu will be in the squad after coming back from his knee issue.

Farke stated that Max Wober and Patrick Bamford are also making good progress with their respective injury issues, but they are not expected to be in the squad to face the Swans today.

The German head coach also confirmed that Wilfried Gnonto is suffering from an ankle injury and only has a 50% chance of being available for selection.

This will come as a blow to Leeds because the Italy U21 international, who scored the winner in the reverse fixture against Swansea, came on at half-time against QPR and made a positive impact.

Leeds were 2-1 down when Gnonto was brought on as a number ten and he played a terrific pass to split open the QPR defence in the build-up to Jayden Bogle’s equaliser.

The former Inter prospect, who has scored five league goals this season, came on to replace Brenden Aaronson at the break, but may now not be available to take his place from the start due to this injury.

Despite Gnonto’s potential unavailability, Farke must finally drop the USA international from the starting line-up because of his poor form in the attacking midfield role for the club in recent weeks.

Aaronson was withdrawn after 45 minutes against QPR after a dismal half of football. He lost four of his five ground duels, completed 60% of his attempted passes, and his only involvement in a goal was to play a loose pass straight to their player for the home team’s opening strike.

The American dud has produced one goal and zero assists in his last 14 league matches for the club, and his form against the top teams in the league illustrates his struggles at the top end of the pitch.

As you can see in the table above, Aaronson has – quite simply – offered very little to the team against the other five teams currently situated in the top six, with no goal contributions in ten games.

His form in front of goal, recently and in the big matches, has not been good enough and Farke should look to find a solution within his squad, starting with this game against Swansea, by bringing Mateo Joseph in.

Why Mateo Joseph should be unleashed

If Gnonto, due to his ankle injury, is not fit enough to start then the Spain U21 international should be brought in to see if he can take a chance to impress as part of a dynamic front two with Joel Piroe, playing slightly behind the Dutchman as a number ten.

Joseph has only started 11 of his 36 appearances in the Championship this season, and eight of those starts came in the first eight matches, which means that he has not had too many opportunities to shine as a starter since the opening weeks of the campaign.

As you can see in the clip above, the Spanish whiz does have the quality and vision to pick out good passes, as he did for Dan James against Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the season.

Joseph, therefore, has the potential to be a good option in the number ten position in place of the underperforming Aaronson and in the absence of Gnonto, which is backed up by his statistics this term.

As you can see in the table above, the 21-year-old forward ranks incredibly highly among his positional peers at a number of key creative and passing metrics.

This suggests that the young star, who was described as “dynamite” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, has the technical and creative qualities that could make him an effective number ten for Leeds against Swansea this afternoon.

Given Aaronson’s underperformance in recent weeks, unleashing Joseph in this role could be an interesting short-term solution to the team’s issues in that position whilst Gnonto gets back to 100% after his ankle injury.
