Manchester City will reportedly listen to offers for an "incredible" player who Pep Guardiola has publicly hailed once the summer transfer window arrives.

The reigning Premier League champions are expected to make changes to their squad in the summer, in order to retain a freshness and keep players on their toes.

Lokomotiv Moscow youngster Sergey Pinyaev has been linked with a switch to City, with the 19-year-old seen as a long-term acquisition with a high ceiling. He has seven goal contributions (three goals and four assists) in 17 Russian Premier League starts this season, primarily playing as a right-sided attacking player, but also capable of thriving on the opposite flank.

Another target who starred over the weekend is Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, having been regularly tipped to head to City in the summer, with rivals Liverpool and Manchester United also showing an interest.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong is being looked at as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker, who is now 33 years of age. The Bundesliga ace has been a key man for his side en route to them winning the title under Xabi Alonso, chipping in with eight goals and seven assists in the competition.

On the flip side, there are some huge names who could potentially leave City this summer, with Bernardo Silva arguably looking the most likely to move on to pastures new. A move to Barcelona has been mooted a number of times, with the Portuguese reportedly favouring a move to the Camp Nou instead of staying at the Etihad.

Man City open to selling "incredible" player

According to Football Insider, Manchester City could now choose to sell Jack Grealish this summer, with a "shock sale a growing possibility" once the current campaign comes to an end.

The report says that "Guardiola is not completely convinced by the winger and he is considered dispensable despite starting the majority of the team’s big games this season", suggesting that the manager has lost faith in the £300,000-a-week ace despite previously singing his praises.

This is an intriguing update, with opinion likely to be split when it comes to Grealish's worth as a City player moving forward. To some, he is a key cog in the machine, keeping possession, linking with teammates and winning free-kicks, but his detractors criticise his lack of end product, with only 14 goals scored in 122 appearances for the club.

Guardiola has called the 28-year-old "incredible" in the past, so he has clearly valued him along the way, and he played his part in City's incredible treble success last season. There is an argument to say that the England international could be improved upon, however, with Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala linked with a stunning move to the Etihad this summer, and surely representing an upgrade, not to mention being seven years younger.

Grealish is contracted to City until 2027, so there is certainly no rush to sell him, but if a huge offer comes in, there is sense in at least considering accepting it.

They may have a decision to make on the future of manager Erik ten Hag, with Ratcliffe not planning on removing the Dutchman from his position before the end of the season. A number of candidates have already been linked to take over from Ten Hag, though, including contact being made with Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel. Meanwhile, former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is another leading candidate at Old Trafford.

In regards to players leaving, some big earners could be about to move on. Raphael Varane is expected to leave in the summer, whereas Ratcliffe is also ready to sell Casemiro, with the two players the highest United earners, picking up more than £300,000-a-week. The Manchester Evening News claimed in March that up to 21 players could leave in the summer window, and Romano has now shared a new exit update on one specific player.

Donny van de Beek “will not stay at Old Trafford”

Midfielder Donny van de Beek has been out on loan with German side Eintracht Frankfurt, and talking to GiveMeSport, Romano has been “told” that United have “already explored other possibilities around Europe” for the player, who “will not stay at Old Trafford”.

It has been another season to forget for Van de Beek, who has made just seven Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt after joining on loan in January, playing just 344 minutes of action.

وأضاف: “يا كابتن حسام الناس لا تقول ذلك لأنك أنت المدير الفني، لكن مع فيتوريا عندما فاز في التصفيات كلها قالوا نفس الكلام، وقبله برادلي حدث معه نفسه الأمر، الناس لا تتعمد أن تقصدك أنت، لأن هذه طبيعة الناس، لا يجب أن ترد على أحد، ويجب أن تركز في عملك لأنه هو الذي سيتحدث عنك، لكن طالما تفتح باب للكلام الذي يتسبب في إحداث جدال، لن ننتهي”.

واختتم: “أنت تؤدي عملك وتفوز، لكن تقليل الناس من المنافسين أنت لن تستطع أن تغير رأيهم، أنت بنفسك عندما كان فيتوريا يدرب المنتخب كنت تقول إن المجموعة التي يلعب بها منتخب مصر سهلة، إلا أنه عندما تكون مسؤول تشعر بحجم المسؤولية، وتحمل هم النتائج، تحدث في الأمور الفنية فقط بعد كل مباراة، وتجاهل ما يقوله الناس، لأن طالما أنت تعمل ستظل تتعرض للانتقادات”.

تحولت التصريحات الصادمة التي أدلى بها نجم فريق ليفربول، محمد صلاح، بشأن مستقبله في “الأنفيلد” إلى مادة دسمة للتقارير الصحفية طوال الساعات الماضية.

كان محمد صلاح قد تحدث مع عدد من الصحفيين في المنطقة المختلطة، بعد مباراة ليفربول وساوثهامبتون، يوم الأحد في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

ورغم أن تلك التصريحات جاءت مساء يوم الأحد، إلا إنها لم تنتشر في وسائل الإعلام إلا صباح الإثنين، مما أدى إلى حدوث حالة من القلق لدى جمهور ليفربول بسبب فحواها.

وأكد محمد صلاح من خلال تلك التصريحات عدم وجود أي عرض من جانب ليفربول لتجديد عقده، الذي سينتهي في يونيو 2025.

من جانبها، قالت شبكة “سكاي سبورتس” العالمية عبر لسان مراسلتها ميليسا ريدي: “يمكننا تفهم لماذا وصف صلاح الأمر بهذه الطريقة، ليس لديه عرض جديد على الطاولة، لقد اقتربنا من شهر ديسمبر ويمكنه التحدث إلى أندية خارجية في يناير، وهو يُعد قريبًا جدًا”.

وواصلت: “الأمور تتقدم في الاتجاه الصحيح، ولكن من الواضح أن هناك فجوة بين ما يريده محمد صلاح وما يستعد ليفربول لوضعه على الطاولة، يجب أن يكون هناك حل وسط من كلا الجانبين”.

وأردفت: “يتعين على ليفربول التفكير في التخطيط بعيد الأمد للفريق وملف أعمار الفريق والعمل بشكل مستدام، لكنهم سيحتاجون إلى تعديل معاييرهم من أجل محمد صلاح”.

واستكملت: “هو لا يزال يريد التنافس على الألقاب المحلية ودوري أبطال أوروبا، إذا نظر حوله، أي نادٍ كبير سيكون لديه مساحة له، والقدرة على دفع ما يستحقه، ومنحه الحرية التي يريدها”.

واسترسلت: “لقد أوضح تمامًا أنه يحب ليفربول ويرغب في البقاء، لذلك هناك حاجة أيضًا إلى بعض التنازلات من جانبه، ولأن هناك إرادة لإتمام صفقة من كلا الطرفين، سيتحقق ذلك في النهاية”.

وأوضحت: “كما أن ليفربول يدرك أنه مهما كانت التنازلات التي يقدمونها مع صلاح، فإن لديهم أيضًا قضيتين كبيرتين أخريتين يجب تسويتهما مع فيرجيل فان دايك وترينت ألكسندر أرنولد، لذلك قد يكون هناك بعض التأثير غير المباشر هناك”.

Glasgow Rangers ran out 5-2 winners over Dundee in an exciting match at Ibrox in their penultimate Scottish Premiership clash of the season on Thursday night.

The Light Blues went into the game knowing that anything other than a win would see their fierce rivals confirmed as league winners.

They, unfortunately, found themselves 2-0 down by the 40th minute of the outing as Dundee struck twice within two minutes.

Philippe Clement's side, however, fought back thanks to goals from Ross McCausland, Cyriel Dessers, Todd Cantwell, and two from Scott Wright.

Whilst Cantwell was the star of the second half comeback but Ross McCausland also caught the eye and both players should now be considered undroppable ahead of the final day and the SFA Cup final later this month.

Todd Cantwell's 9.6/10 Dundee masterclass

The former Norwich City attacking midfielder put on a masterclass in the attacking midfield position on Tuesday night with his sublime attacking play.

He produced a fantastic cross from the left flank to set up Dessers for the equaliser to make it 2-2, with the Nigerian striker able to guide his header into the far bottom corner.

The 26-year-old star then stepped up with a sensational finish – albeit possibly intended as a cross – from the right flank into the far top left corner to make it 3-2 and complete the comeback.

As you can see in the table above, Cantwell put on a show at Ibrox with a staggering six key passes and two 'big chances' created to go alongside his goal and assist.

The English star has offered far more than Tom Lawrence usually does in that position, as shown by the statistics in the table, and should now have nailed down his place in the XI moving into the last two matches.

Lawrence has only produced two goals and three assists in 23 Premiership matches across the entire season, and Cantwell racked up almost half as many goal involvements in one match on Tuesday night.

The former Canaries whiz has now scored six goals and provided five assists in 23 league starts for the Light Blues this term, which illustrates how much more he offers than his Welsh teammate at the top end of the pitch.

He had been an unused substitute against Celtic last weekend and just proved that Clement should not drop him again, as the Gers missed his creative presence in their 2-1 defeat at Parkhead.

The Scottish giants only mustered up one shot on target in that narrow loss and the attacking midfielder has proven time and again, including against Dundee, that he has the ability to make things happen in the final third as both a scorer and a creator of goals.

That is why Clement must not drop him down to the bench, barring a fitness issue, in either of the next two matches, and moving into the 2024/25 campaign.

Why 21-year-old Ross McCausland is now undroppable

McCausland should also now be considered undroppable for the Belgian head coach after he popped up with a fantastic performance down the right flank.

Dujon Sterling's absence provided the academy graduate with an opportunity to stake a claim for his place ahead of the final two matches, and for next season, and he grasped it with both hands.

Rangers were in desperate need of a spark after the crowd began to voice their displeasure at being 2-0 down to Dundee in the first half, and the young winger was the man to step up in their time of need.

McCausland showed great invention, determination, and skill to pull one back just before half time as he capitalised on lackadaisical defensive work to steal in and prod the ball into the back of the net after a clever touch around the corner.

The 21-year-old whiz registered an 8.1 Sofascore rating out of 10 for his performance on the night, as he also went on to assist Wright's second with a quick break through the middle and pass to the Scottish forward on the left.

He completed five of his eight attempted dribbles and won seven of his 11 ground duels on the night, which speaks to his exciting and direct play as well as his desire to track back and work hard for the team.

The dynamo, who created two chances for Rangers, got the crowd on their feet with his goal, his dribbles, his assist, and his infectious work rate, which is why he should now be undroppable for Rangers.

Ross McCausland's 23/24 season in numbers

The former B team star has struggled to nail down a regular place in the lineup in the Premiership this season, with only half of his appearances coming as a starter.

He has featured in 28 league matches for the Scottish giants and started 14 of those, which shows that Clement has not yet trusted him to start week-in-week-out yet.

In those 14 starts, the talented speedster has now racked up two goals and four assists for his electric efforts, to go along with 1.4 tackles and interceptions per game.

McCausland has offered glimpses of his quality in possession as a scorer and a creator as well as off the ball with his work rate to track back and cut out opposition attacks.

The Northern Irish wizard, who scored nine goals in 41 B team matches for the academy, needs to play regularly to continue his progress and develop consistency in his game.

It is hard to be a consistent performer if you are not playing consistent minutes, due to the fluctuating game time and situations that the forward has been thrown into, and that is another reason why the manager should make him undroppable over these next two games.

Allowing McCausland to start the last two matches, making it three straight starts in total, would also provide the manager with an insight into how the youngster could cope with being a regular starter next season.
