Sri Lanka batsman Danushka Gunathilaka has been suspended from all forms of international cricket by SLC for breaching the ‘Player Code of Conduct’, pending inquiry. The board will also withhold Gunathilaka’s match fee for the ongoing Test against South Africa, in addition to the suspension that will come into effect immediately after the match at SSC.Without divulging more details, an SLC release said, “the decision to suspend the player was taken following an initial inquiry conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket, after the team management reported that the player have violated the ”Code of Conduct’.” The offence, for now, is understood to be a breach of curfew during the ongoing Test against South Africa. There is a possibility that a further, more serious offence will come to light as well, which is what has prompted the strong action from SLC.Gunathilaka has had a sequence of disciplinary issues in the recent past. In January this year, he had been officially reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the final of the T20 tri-series against Bangladesh. He had been reprimanded for giving Tamim Iqbal a send-off when the batsman was on his way to the dressing room. As a result, one demerit point had been added to his disciplinary records.Last year, Gunathilaka had been suspended for six white-ball matches for misconduct, and was hence omitted from the ODI squad for the series against Pakistan in the UAE. ESPNcricinfo had reported that Gunathilaka missed a training session, turned up for a match without his gear, and was generally found to have had an indifferent attitude towards training – all during Sri Lanka’s home series against India. The suspension was later revised to three matches, the remaining three matches being part of a suspended sentence over a one-year period, which could come into force in the event of any further disciplinary breaches. He had also been fined 20% of his annual contract fee.

Surrey struggle as wickets tumble around the Championship

When offered a one-year deal by Durham last September, Onions opted for the longer contract offered by Lancashire and he marked his fresh honour by taking 4 for 76 as Yorkshire were dismissed for 209 on an afternoon when anxieties at the Kirkstall Lane End deepened like a coastal shelf.But Onions did not have things all his own way on the opening day of this game. He was denied for long periods and was hit for several fine boundaries by Tom Kohler-Cadmore, another cricketer who is walking the road less travelled. A couple of summers ago Kohler-Cadmore seemed a fixture at Worcestershire, a county which prizes the loyalty of its Academy graduates. However, he had played his junior cricket in Yorkshire and moved back to Headingley midway through last season, a decision for which home supporters had every reason to be grateful when Kohler-Cadmore’s cover-drive off Onions took him to his second century in successive innings.But Yorkshire’s recovery was a qualified affair and the next couple of days may establish its inadequacy. The home side’s modest total was put into perspective during a 35-over evening session when Alex Davies and Karl Brown put on an unbroken 105 for Lancashire’s first wicket. Davies gave a chance to Adam Lyth at second slip when he had made 36 but otherwise he and his partner enjoyed calm seas and gentle, following breezes.Such conditions were probably particularly welcome to Brown whose batting often reminds one of the style of football played by West Ham United in the mid-1970s; it is attractive but ineffectual. Indeed, a month ago Brown can hardly have envisaged he would be getting this opportunity but faced by a Yorkshire attack which lacked incision he got his head down and was undefeated on 43. Harry Brook gave up without a fight; his waft outside the off stump was not consonant with the demands of the game. Lyth battled away for an hour but eventually edged a catch to Dane Vilas and departed shaking his head in disappointment at Rob Bailey’s decision. Finally, Gary Ballance was leg before to a full length ball he was trying to work on the on side.Kohler-Cadmore was joined by Jonny Tattersall and the pair repaired the innings with a 105-run stand for the fifth wicket, Tattersall contributing an admirably resolute 33. But the loss of those four early wickets for 33 runs in 16.5 overs was a grievous blow and Yorkshire could not full recover from it. Onions saw to that in the afternoon session by taking three wickets in 13 balls, the most significant of them that of Tattersall, who was leg before wicket when looking to play to leg.Tim Bresnan and Matthew Waite followed for ducks in scarcely the time a man takes between sips of a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and Yorkshire were 144 for 7. Steve Patterson and Ben Coad then played useful short innings and Kohler-Cadmore reached his fine century off 121 balls during a last wicket stand of 22 with Coad. But Richard Gleeson marked a fine debut after his move from Northamptonshire by bowling his outswingers at an attacking length and if that brought him some punishment it also brought him the last three wickets.As for Onions, he walked off the Headingley outfield after taking his total of Championship wickets this summer to 55. It has been yet another fine season for him. All the same, he may on just the odd occasion, have looked around him and wondered why he was not bowling at the Finchale End and where Rushy and Colly had disappeared to all of a sudden.

Taking to social media platform X, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins has confirmed that Galatasaray full-back Sacha Boey is a target for Manchester United, who have officially enquired about the availability of the Frenchman amid his contract stalemate at the Turkish giants. Boey's contractual situation could see him available as a free agent in the summer of 2025, having failed to agree a one-year extension to his current deal.

Detailing the Red Devils' initiation of direct contact with Galatasaray, Hawkins wrote: "Things are stuck for the extension of Sacha Boey at Galatasaray. No agreement has been reached on the terms of this one-year extension. Manchester United have made inquiries about the Frenchman."

Boey, who shares the same agency as Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw, CAA Stellar, has already featured 20 times for Galatasaray this term, registering one assist in the process (Boey statistics – Transfermarkt).

As per Milliyet transcribed via One Football, former Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna has previously labelled Boey "great" amid previous links between the 23-year-old and Arsenal. Manchester United head into the international break off the back of a lacklustre 1-0 victory over Luton Town, a win which has summed up their season so far.

Erik ten Hag will feel the pressure alleviating slightly, yet unless there is vast improvement before Christmas, his position could still be under threat.

The January transfer window is fast approaching and could the Dutchman use this to potentially sign a player or two for his squad?

Man United transfer news – Jayden Addai

According to Football Transfers, the Old Trafford side sent scouts to watch young AZ Alkmaar talent Jayden Addai for the U19 side in their recent Youth League tie against Molde FK.

The youngster is attracting plenty of attention for his performances for the AZ youth sides in recent months and, despite not making an appearance for the senior side, a debut surely won’t be far off.

Ten Hag appears to be utilising his knowledge of Dutch football and United could potentially make a more concrete offer in the coming months for the 18-year-old.

The former Ajax manager has placed his trust in several youth players since taking over at the club in 2022, most notably Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentinian has made 49 appearances for the Red Devils under the leadership of Ten Hag and has become a regular in the first team while he has scored six goals during that period.

The former Atlético Madrid starlet sparkled for the youth sides in Manchester, scoring 23 goals across 54 games which led to him making his debut during the 2021/22 season.

While he hasn’t quite produced excellent performances consistently this term, the youngster is prone to the odd moments of inspiration.

Could Ten Hag sign a bigger talent than Garnacho with the young AZ sensation, however? The right-winger was praised by his coach, Pascal Jansen, who said: “He’s a good player, so I hope he shows up in 30-plus games in the KKD. I hope that he can standout there.”

The teenager first came to prominence last year when he made eight appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring four times as AZ claimed the trophy having dismantled Hajduk Split 5-0 in the final.

Addai carried this momentum into the current campaign, and he has already registered 14 goal contributions – ten goals and four assists – from just 13 games, clearly signifying how impressive he is in the final third.

A senior debut will surely be on the line in the coming months, especially with Jansen’s side struggling of late, failing to win any of their previous four fixtures as they currently occupy fourth place in the Eredivisie table.

It’s evident that United have noticed Addai’s growing potential and a move for him could allow Ten Hag to unearth a potentially bigger talent than Garnacho. Indeed, the "superstar in the making" – as per Dutch football expert Michael Bell – is already on the way to beating the Argentine's seasonal best tally of 14 strikes at youth level.

Not only that, but the young sensation has even outscored every single United player this term, with only Rasmus Hojlund coming within five goals of Addai’s tally.

Of course, he has yet to showcase his talents at senior level, yet judging by the 18-year-old's statistics at youth level, there is no doubt he could make a solid impression in the Premier League.

وتابع رومانو أن تكلفة انتقال أولمو إلى برشلونة ستكون بقيمة 55 مليون يورو بالإضافة إلى 7 ملايين يورو كإضافات.

حيث وافق اللاعب أولمو على عقد مدته ستة سنوات حتى يونيو 2030 مع برشلونة.

وشارك أولمو الموسم الماضي في 25 مباراة مع لايبزيج بجميع المسابقات، حيث أحرز 8 أهداف وقام بصناعة 5 أهداف طوال الموسم.
